These days, it might be more important to add “What you say is less important than how you say it

What makes up a good personal brand?


According to the 2007 Interbrand Marketers Report the top 5 ingredients to a successful brand are:

  1. Consistency = 36%
  2. Understanding Your Target Market = 18.2%
  3. Messaging = 14.7%
  4. Creative/Design/Logo = 12.8%
  5. Relevance = 12.4%

If your authentic (Point 3: Messaging – 14.7%), and take about your presentation  (Point 4: Creative – 12.8%) and are consistent (Point 1: Consistency – 36%)  you have accomplished what people say comprises  63.5% of a good brand, be it personal or otherwise.

While if you understand your market  (Point 2: Understanding Your Target Market – 18.2%) and have relevant things to say (Point 5: Relevance – 12.2%), you have only accomplished 30.6% what people say a compose a good brand.
